my friends and i booked a *small* hotel when we went to paris-the hotel louvre forum. it’s not very big-the lobby literally only 5 by 10 feet; the elevator only 4 by 4 and the hallway on the 4th floor only 4 by 10 as well. another thing; everytime you checked out, you had to leave your key with the porter. mine was the only name on the reservation for two. there were 4 of us. -_- it really did not end up being that big of a deal but on the first night, jordan and i shared an even smaller room in a 1-star hotel/hostel place on the same block on the opposite side.

that room was ridiculous- the size of a king size bed, no bathroom, huge windows (this will be important in a second) and a tiny tiny tiny twin. that night, i peed in the sink. haha. i can’t even remember the name of this hotel… hmmm.

anyway after we hung out with austin and sean we went to our hotel room. we had passed by these guys outside that looked a little bit sketchy/not bad, but definitely sketchy. we walked upstairs. we walked in our room and saw that the huge window which was fastened before was opened. in the shadows one of the guys from downstairs was lying on all fours on the floor. bizarre/freaky/scary. but he was not dangerous. he gave us the international hand sign for “shhhh” and asked if anyone was at the front desk, there wasn’t. then he walked out of our hotel room, down the stairs, and out of our lives.

shaken, jordan and i did not sleep well on our twin. but, that could also have been because we had no air conditioning and we now had our window fastened shut.

needless to say, i’m glad it cost me only 20 euro to spend one night there. i’d rather be on the streets! lies, but still.
